The last four weeks have seen some pretty epic comic blogging going on.
Like a three act play (with midpoint) I introduced the backdrop ‘What if we made digital the new pulp to expand comic readership,’ then I complicated matters with those evil ‘Self Pub Fiction Authors who get the best of us’ before the dark-night-of-the-soul, wherein I (apparently) depressed webcomic creators by asking ‘What’s wrong with Webcomics,’ and then brought it all back together with my positive ‘predictions for a bright future for digital comics’.
…Credits and Enya.
Unsurprisingly, the one where I scared the shit out of you people (and me a bit) was the most widely read and shared.
This week I’m taking a little break from writing with big-boy words and am instead presenting a cartoon I did for the German language paper, Le Monde Diplomatique. I’m hoping it gains me an audience of disaffected Berlin hipsters who will buy me cheap beer and sneak me into Opera if I ever visit. Amanda Palmer eat your heart out… Though she’s probably a non-heart-eating vegan (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
The comic was finished, re-worked, translated, re-translated, re-worked and translated again. I believe it was published a week ago in a far-away land called Europe. It was also put on their website in German, and will later be published in a book that collects commissions so that I might be surrounded by my betters. Seriously, have you seen the art these people have produced?
Below is the English version, and in the interest of giving you suckers-for-punishment what you want (bad news), it’s a look at the end of Human Civilisation, thanks to science and monkeys. I also kinda blame old people.
